The Council Member for PROJECT@M is a newly created special interest group (SIG) in 2021. This role seeks to complement the Council body’s activities for; outreach to prospective and new intakes, integrating new MBSAAS members with existing Alumni and providing other support functions to the other SIGs in conjunction with pipeline activities. The PROJECT@M further seeks to reach out to prospective mid-career professionals (candidates) seeking to pursue the Global MBA by Alliance Manchester Business School as their first degree to promote educational equality, foster collective sharing of industrial experience but importantly to provide a support network for career pivoting and/or interest groups maintained by MBSAAS.
Lester Teo has been appointed as the Council Member steering the PROJECT@M SIG for a 2 years term. In his professional capacity, he’s a veteran in the petrochemicals industry and his 16 years career spans over various functions from strategic business development, B2B trading, delivering client solutions, key account management, projects and investments in bio/renewables and sustainable chemistry. He previously spent 3 years in China and set up the trading outpost in Singapore, and managed all aspects of their procurement and distribution pipeline. Lester Teo is currently a Sales Manager at a Tokyo-listed Japanese General Trading Company managing a wide category spanning basic chemicals, specialty chemicals, inorganic chemicals, plastics and renewable projects.
Lester Teo is expected to graduate from the Global MBA in Dec 2022 and is looking forward to crafting his own success story with his cohort mates in the near future. He remains very passionate about promoting educational opportunities for mid-career professionals looking to pursue an MBA as their first degree and would be happy to provide a mentoring and/or support network for this group of candidates.
